English Nationals 2012

Just over three weeks to go before the English Nationals 2012. This years event will be held at the Bolton Arena, this is allow Manchester Velodrome to be used by the cyclists as part of their Olympic build up.
Rajiv Ouseph

Last years men's singles champion Rajiv Ouseph will hoping for a fifth Consecutive title, which would see him overtake Darren Hall's four wins in row 1988-1991.

Carl Baxter

Rajiv's most likely opponent in the final will be Carl Baxter (runner up for the last 4 years). Hard to see anyone else threatening Carl's place in the final although Harry Wright, Ben Beckman and Neil White will be snapping at his heals.

Liz Cann
A fit Liz Cann should return to reclaim the ladies title, last year Liz was knocked out by youngster Chloe Birch, which was a fantastic result and hopefully shows that we have some young players with real potential coming through in the next few years. Liz's opponent in the final could be either last years winner Nicola Cerfontyne or Sarah Walker who pushed Nicola all the way in last years final.

Bolton local girl Jenny Wallwork must be hoping to repeat her ladies doubles title with partner Gabby White,

Heather Olve
Mariana Agathangelou
Mariana Agathangelou and Heather Olve will be out to stop the Yorkshire pair taking their third title in a row.

In the men's doubles Nottingham Chris Adcock with his partner Andy Ellis, will provide a very strong challenge to last years winner Chris Langridge who will play with Peter Mills in this years event.
Chris Adcock

Nathan Robertson
If Chris fails in his bid to win the men's title for the first time he will almost certainly have a shot of taking the the mixed event with Gabby White, if he can slay the winners of the last two years Jenny Wallwork and Nathan Robertson.

Should be a good event with a batch of good young players hoping to upset the established players, see you in Bolton?  Regards Alan.
